Camping Le Haut Salat

The 3-star campsite Le Haut Salat is located 500m above sea level in the heart of Haut-Couserans and gives direct access to the river Le Salat.

The Haut Salat has a heated swimming pool between June and September. Swimming enthusiasts can also enjoy direct access to the river for swimming in fresh water in the countryside. In the campsite, holidaymakers will have access to an illuminated petanque and ping-pong tables. A video projection TV room is present. Those who want to spend a little time can enjoy the volleyball court, basketball court and mini-football, and for fun, a games room offers billiard, foosball and pinball machines. In the surroundings, many activities are available: Canoeing, rafting, acrobranche, canyoning, mountain biking, hiking, caving, fishing rivers and pond. The bravest can even paraglide! Children have their own mini-club to enjoy fun activities developed for them.

The campsite offers 136 shady sites spread over 3 hectares, surrounded by fields just at the foot of the Pyrenees. Mobile homes are also available. The smallest mobile homes are 17m2 and can accommodate 1 to 2 people. A covered terrace with garden furniture and barbecue accompanies the accommodation. The largest of the mobile homes is between 27 and 30m2 and can accommodate up to 6 people. It consists of 2 bedrooms, a living room with kitchen, a shower and a toilet and a covered terrace with garden furniture and barbecue.

In Ariège, tourism enthusiasts can visit key sites such as Montségur Castle which is located on a rocky outcrop. It stands at 1207m above sea level and overlooks the village of Montségur. The castle of Foix, refuge of the persecuted Cathars dominates the city from its rock. Prehistoric lovers will be able to visit the cave of Niaux, known worldwide for the paintings of 14 000 years old which are on its walls.
