While camping in Brittany, discover a legendary land, with its 561 campsites ideally spread over its 4 departments between the seaside and inland villages.Occupied by man for nearly 450,000 years, Brittany, its history, Celtic influences and exacerbated landscapes where sea and land intermingle cultivate its legend and proudly preserve its traditions to better combine them in the present.
On average, campsites in Brittany apply a rate of 520€ per week during the off season and 1200€ in the high season. To choose your campsite in Brittany, here are the main areas of tourist interest to choose according to your tastes:
The Côte d'Émeraude and Baie de St-Malo
The Côte d'Émeraude extends its gemstone reflections along the English Channel between Le Cap Fréhel and Cancale. You will discover some campsites around Cancale, a small family resort and oyster farm, planted between the Champeaux cliffs and Pointe du Grouin. In Saint-Coulomb, 5km from Cancale, you will find the 3-star Les Chevrets campsite with immediate access to the splendid Les Chevrets beach. Its rates are advantageous and it offers "cocoon" stays in tree houses.
In the heart of the Côte d'Emeraude, Saint-Malo is a strategic location to discover the coast by taking the GR34 but also to visit its medieval city or to reach Mont Saint-Michel. Camping Le P'tit Bois 5-star campsite is located 4km from the sea and close to the beautiful beaches of the Rance River; it also has a vast heated water park with slides and wild rivers, a natural phenomenon of the coastal area of the Channel due to the brown - pink granite accumulated in the form of clusters up to 20m high, the pink Granite Coast extends over 10 km from the village of Perros-Guirec to Trébeurden.
In Trégastel, La Presqu'île de la Renote is full of pink granite clusters. Among the campsites in the Côtes d'Armor, you will find the Tourony Camping 3-star campsite facing the port of Ploumanac'h, 300m from Tourony beach and with direct access to the customs path.
A campsite on the tip of Brittany
Finistère is famous for its Pointe du Raz, this rocky cape located west of the town of Plogoff which marks both the escape point from Brittany and the far west of Europe. Today, together with La Pointe du Van and Baie des Trépassés, it is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Europe. To see: Cap Sizun and its authentic villages such as Cléden-Cap-Sizun, see camping La Baie 2 stars with swimming pool 7km from La Pointe du Raz.
The Gulf of Morbihan and the Bay of Quiberon
Carnac, its 5 fine sandy beaches, its preserved coastline, its wide forest park and its famous megalithic site is a resort that we love at first sight and that is a good starting point to explore Belle-île, the small port of Doëlan (worthy of the best postcards in Brittany!) and Saint-Goustan-Port d'Auray with its half-timbered houses and paved alleys. See Camping Le Rosnual 5 stars 3 km from the beaches and 1 km from the city centre. It has a large aquatic complex with swimming pools, sauna, whirlpool and jacuzzi... In the lands of Brittany
Rennes, the dynamic university and cultural city steeped in history, borders the Brocéliande forest where the famous legend of King Arthur takes its source but also Josselin, Little City of Character with its castle planted on the banks of the Oust river.
For a camping holiday in Ille-et-Vilaine, opt for the 5-star Domaine des Ormes campsite in Dol-de-Bretagne, built on the grounds of a former 16th century castle, with a swimming pool, direct access to a lake and all the services of a top-of-the-range hotel. Finally, you can not miss a visit to Nantes and its Château des Ducs de Bretagne!
